BOY’Dega: Edited 4 Syndication presents the dissolving of explicit boundaries, in a Baltimore populated by all those who verge on participation. This stylized forensic drama is tangled together in clusters, information gangs, each looking to steal and absorb more content for the benefit of its own authenticity and self preservation. Visitors will ultimately decide who deserves this honor. Each will have the opportunity to navigate a codified world constructed from original footage, character studies, backstory, lineage, and invented BOY’Dega fan communities: raging against the original with their own vision of the show. Discover spin-off images that capture the creators at nightclubs in wardrobe stolen from the set, geo-tagging, gossip, archaeological digs, breakfast in the street, sexy photo albums, murder, protest, stand up comedy, etc.—all formatted to extinguish isolation and create comfort for an inevitable trip to the grave.
Boy’d’s overly analytical nature sends him into immediate conflict with the city, inciting continuous failed attempts at self-help. His introversion and observational skills allow him to function as a pacifist in a crime-ridden, DIY city like Baltimore. A student of forensics at UB, he has taken his young education and made it applicable to every person he’s encountered. Holding two part-time positions—one restocking at the local corner store and the other as an intern for the library—Boy’d is a diligent worker. Boy’d’s friends and acquaintances are there as reminders to avoid dissolving into the background while having internal conflicts of their own. The audience will root for him due to his brand of eccentricity and being archetypically good.
